Genealogy
An academic genealogy traces one’s place in the line of academic descent from Ph.D. supervisor or mentor (for earlier times) to student. Dates and places given refer to those of the Ph.D. or D.Phil. degree of the student, or in earlier times, the appropriate relevant degree (e.g. MD).
